On April 11th, 2026, Drkmttr Collective and Chinkapin Craftstead are coming together to host “Youth and Nature Day,” a day of art and nature workshops geared towards young people and their families. This free event will feature queer, trans, and allied teaching artists that are excited to explore nature alongside youth participants. Offered sessions include a plant identification walk, flower petal confetti launcher and catapult creation, stenciling, wheatpasting, and more!

The workshops are primarily designed for high school and middle school aged youth, but we will have dedicated volunteers helping to adapt the content for littles, as well as some alternative activities for young children, including storytime and crafts appropriate for smaller children. Youth workers and mentors are also welcome to attend their young people. There will be both indoor and outdoor activities available.

The event will run from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with free-choice elective workshops happening from 10:30-12:30 and 1:30-3:30, with lunch occurring between our sessions. We will have snacks and beverages for the group, but ask that participants bring lunch with them to eat during our lunch break. If participants are unable to bring lunch, simply reach out to us at. socialclub@drkmttrcollective.com, and we will provide a meal for you!
